Part two of term paper ... is this perception that instigated my research about The Danger Tree. I noticed that even though the women in the novel did play an instrumental role in the creation of the history of the Goodyear family, they have been pushed aside to focus on the Goodyear men and more importantly the three brothers. It is this that I take issue with. The history of the women of is diverse, rich and powerful. They are the teachers, nurses, wives and widows of this proud colony.
